GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 28, 2014) — Wet weather will be the story this week as West Michigan turns the calendar from April into May.  Very strong winds will also be an issue, especially during the day Monday, with gusts around 40 mph likely at times.

Showers were spreading into West Michigan Monday morning, and bands of rain will periodically rotate around a slow-moving area of low pressure over the next several days.

A bit of a break in the rain may allow temperatures to briefly climb near 70° on Tuesday, potentially priming the air for some strong thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon or Tuesday night.

Cooler air will gradually return for the rest of the week, leaving us with highs only in the low 50s by the end of the workweek.
