GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 3, 2014) — Its been more than a week since a mother from Grand Rapids was reported missing afer her husband said that he dropped her off for work.

Yolanda Reyes, 40,  was last seen on April 24th.

On Saturday night, family and neighbors gathered outside of Reyes’ family home, holding candles and praying that she will be returned home soon.

“I feel like sad because I miss my mom and want her back,” said Royner Rodas, Reyes’ 14-year-old son.

Rodas said that he and his family are holding onto hope that his mother is found.

Xeomara Montenegro said that she first met Reyes five years ago, and was shocked to hear something had happened to her.

“One of my customers got into the store and they were taking about you know someone missing, and I said ‘Huh what’s happening here?’ so they said it was Yolanda and I couldn’t believe it and at the time I said there’s no way she’s missing. I mean what happened?” said Montenegro.

Reyes is a mother of four, with her youngest daughter just 6-years-old.

“There is a lot of pain and a lot of like they are very quiet right now. They, I guess are trying to find their mind, the right answer of where their mom could be,” said Montenegro.

Family and friends said that it isn’t like Reyes to wander off on her own and not be in contact with her family. Loved ones said that they are praying soon there will be answers.

“This is not a common situation and all of the friends and all of the family are pretty sure that she didn’t go by herself. Definitely something else happened because she’s very family oriented,” said Montenegro.

The Walker Police Department said that Reyes was last seen wearing a sweater and jeans. She’s about 5’3″ tall and between 120- 130 pounds.
