Attempted Kidnapping ‘Unfounded’ in Hopkins Area

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. – (May 5, 2014) – Michigan State Police said there is not a kidnapper running around the streets of Hopkins, following a suspicious incident Monday morning.

Just before noon, MSP released a statement which read, “The Michigan State Police developed leads from the previous press release regarding the attempted abduction in Hopkins involving a maroon Lincoln Continental. Investigators located the owner/driver of the vehicle and have determined this report to be unfounded. There was no abduction attempt and Troopers have determined there is no suspect in the Hopkins area attempting to kidnap juveniles.”
