GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 5, 2014) — Officers have arrested one suspect and recovered a handful of firearms after two teenagers were seen trespassing on school property early Monday morning.
Everything started at around 12:30 a.m. when two officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department noticed two people trespassing on Alexander Elementary’s property. When the officers went to confront them, one suspect took off running.
After a short pursuit, the officers tracked the suspect to a home on Hancock Street SE. Inside, they recovered two sawed-off shotguns, and two other firearms. They arrested the 17-year-old suspect. The second teenager who was at the original scene has not been located.
