AUSTIN, Texas (May 10, 2014) — The regular season success the Grand Rapids Griffins enjoyed against the Texas Stars is a distant memory.

The AHL regular season champion Stars scored in every period on their way to a 4-0 win Saturday against the Griffins, putting the defending Calder Cup champions in a 2-0 hole in the best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinals.

Grand Rapids won three of their four regular season meetings with the Stars.

It’s just the fourth time all season that the Griffins have been shut out.

Petr Mrazek surrendered all four goals for Grand Rapids, while stopping 33 shots. Brendan Ranford and Justin Dowling had two goals apiece for Texas. Game 3 moves the series to Grand Rapids on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
