EAST LANSING, Mich. (May 12, 2014) — The suspect police say is connected to two fatal shootings Monday in the Lansing and East Lansing areas is in custody.

The first shooting happened late Monday morning at the Rite Aid at the Frandor Shopping Center, 3106 E. Saginaw St.

Witnesses told police the suspect entered the store, made contact with an employee, then began shooting.  The employee was shot in the face.

The Coolidge Road shooting happened  minutes later at Coolidge Road between Saginaw and Lake Lansing Road, about one mile away from the Rite Aid killing.

Neither victim has been identified. Coolidge between Saginaw and Lake Lansing will remain closed until further notice, according to East Lansing Police.

The suspect was arrested after a standoff at a residence in the 1800 block of Coolidge.
