EAST LANSING, Mich. (May 12, 2014) — Police tell FOX 17 that the victim of a shooting on Coolidge Road between Saginaw and Lake Lansing Road has died.

This was the second fatal shooting Monday in the Lansing and East Lansing areas.  Lansing Police said they are unsure if the shootings are connected.

The first happened at the Frandor Shopping Center late Monday morning after a report of a shooting at the Rite Aid store, 3106 E. Saginaw St.

An officer with LPD said when emergency crews arrived on the scene, the Rite Aid employee was already deceased.

Witnesses told police the suspect entered the store, made contact with an employee, then began shooting.  The employee was shot in the face.

The Coolidge Road shooting happened roughly 15 minutes later and about one mile away from the Rite Aid killing.  Neither victim has been identified.

FOX 17’s Deanna Falzone is in the area and will continue to bring you the latest information.
