Fire Damages Apartment-Style Home in Muskegon

muskegon fireMUSKEGON, Mich. (May 23, 2014) — Crews responded to a residential fire in Muskegon on Friday morning, and the layout of the building gave them some trouble in their efforts.

It happened at a three-apartment home located at 8th and Grand at around 7:30 a.m.  When firefighters arrived, heavy flames were showing in the second floor.  They got the fire knocked out quickly, but it was difficult to locate the source of the flames at first because of the confusing hallway layout.

Crews tell us that one woman is unaccounted for, but it is not believed that she was home at the time of the fire.  A cause has not been determined at this time.
