Source: Teen Arrested in Guam in Connection With Mecosta Co. Sexual Assault Case

generic police lightsMECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. (May 27, 2014) — Law enforcement sources close to the investigation confirm to FOX 17 that two teens have been arrested in connection with sexual assaults that occurred in Mecosta County over the weekend.

Patrick Kettner, 18, was apprehended in Guam after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl before fleeing the continent, sources say.

Sources also confirm that 19-year-old Doug Robinson was arrested in Big Rapids in connection with this case.   There are believed to be three victims total.

A source tells FOX 17 there were between eight and 10 people at a Green Township residence for a party Saturday night and Sunday morning when the alleged sexual assaults occurred.

Kettner allegedly fled to be with his father, who works for the U.S. Coast Guard in Guam.  Sources tell FOX 17 that his father turned him over to authorities.

The Mecosta County Sheriffs Office is currently investigating a sexual assault complaint that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday 5-25-14 in Green Twp. The investigation has revealed that the suspect, an 18 year old Big Rapids man sexually assaulted a 15 year old Big Rapids girl. The suspect is believed to have fled the continent via air travel to the south pacific to avoid/obstruct the ongoing investigation. Additional leads are currently being followed up on that indicate the possibility of multiple suspects and multiple sexual assault victims from the same incident location. MCSO has been assisted in the investigation by The MSP Emergency Services Unit, BRDPS, FSUDPS, ICE. As more information is gleaned from the investigation the media will be informed when applicable.
