GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 31, 2014) – MyTEAM TRIUMPH West Michigan Chapter (MTT) is a non-profit organization that works to provide road racing and triathlon sports to people with disabilities. Saturday evening MTT is holding its first fundraising event, a Captain’s Ball, to support these events.
The Captain’s Ball will be held Saturday at 7 P.M. at The Sharpe Collection at 1010 28th Street SE in Grand Rapids, according to the event’s Facebook page. MTT leaders said the event will raise money and awareness to help fund equipment needs, and open the opportunity for others to run and ride.
Organizers said “MTT helps individuals who would otherwise never dream of entering a race, let alone experience the energy of packet pickup, or the thrill of crossing that finish line.”
There will be a red carpet for the captains’ arrival, a photo wall by Stellafly, cocktails and hors d’oeurvres, and a DJ. All proceeds will go directly to MTT’s West Michigan Chapter, according to organizers.
