KALAMAZOO, Mich. (June 2, 2014) — Three people are facing open murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Michael Day.

According to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office,  the suspects are expected to be arraigned Tuesday in 8th District Court.

Among those facing charges is 15-year-old Victor Garay, who the prosecutor’s office says will be charged as an adult.  Rashad Perez, 18, and 23-year-old Octavius Snell will also be arraigned.

All three are facing open murder, conspiracy to commit murder and felony firearm charges.

On Memorial Day, Michael Day died after being shot in the torso while riding his bike in the Edison neighborhood.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers said the incident stemmed from an argument that took place throughout the weekend.
