Cedar Point Celebrates The Blue Streak’s 50th Anniversary

Blue StreakSANDUSKY, Ohio (June 21, 2014)- Cedar Point is celebrating a milestone with its oldest roller coaster at the amusement park.

Cedar Point is celebrating the Blue Streak’s 50th anniversary of thrilling riders at the park.

The wooden roller coaster was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and started giving its first rides to guest back in 1964. The roller coaster was named after Sandusky High School Blue Streaks. With a first hill height of 78 ft. the ride exceeds speeds of 40 mph. in its classic “out and back” layout.

Cedar Point is also celebrating the anniversaries of  Cedar Creek Mine Ride (45th), Magnum XL-200 (25th), Raptor (20th) and Camp Snoopy (15th) on Saturday.
