KEELER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (June 21, 2014)- One man was taken to the Van Buren County Jail after deputies arrested the man Friday evening on Round Lake.
According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, Marine Deputies made contact with the man after stopping his pontoon boat for a safety inspection around 9:30 p.m. Friday night. After conducting the safety inspection on the pontoon boat, deputies found the boat operator, a 43-year-old man from Orland Park, Illinois under the influence of alcohol.
There were 10 additional passengers on the pontoon boat when deputies made their safety check.
Deputies took the man into custody and lodged him at the Van Buren County Jail.
The man’s identity will not be released until he is arraigned in a Van Buren County Court
