Firefighters Extinguish Dunes Fire At Holland State Park

HOLLAND, Mich. — Firefighters put out a large dunes fire at Holland State Park on Friday afternoon.

Ottawa County Central Dispatch said the flames started near a lot at the state park and went the other way toward the road. Firefighters from Holland Township and Park Township were called to extinguish the fire.

The flames were brought under control quickly and never endangered any people or structures.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

    The fire fighters worried more about a couple of porta potties than the millions of dollars of realestate in the path of the fire.
