Chase Leads To Fatal Crash

generic police lightsAllegan County, Mich. (June 28, 2014)- One person is dead and another was injured after a chase ended with a crash, that’s according to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office.

The chase started on M37 Hwy and Adams Rd. in Barry County. Deputies said the driver was speeding.

It ended at the intersection of Bass Rd. and Patterson Rd. in Allegan County.

Deputies said the driver they were chasing failed to stop and slammed into a second vehicle. Investigators said the driver who was hit died at the scene. The victim’s name is not being released.

Deputies said the driver they were chasing was thrown from the vehicle. No word on his injuries.

Investigators said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Officials also said both drivers may not have been wearing their seatbelts.
