WAYLAND, Mich. (July 2, 2014) – 911 calls reveal new details of what happened the afternoon Joshua Keyzer, 15, allegedly killed Kassandra Keyzer, 21.

“Yes, please I have an emergency fast,” Sharon Keyzer told the dispatcher. “My neck has been slit.”

Her voice fades throughout the 911 call as the dispatcher tells her to keep the towel to her neck to try to stop the bleeding.

“How is the bleeding?” The dispatcher asks. “It was spurting out,” Sharon said.

She says her grandson slit her throat, and she convinced him to let her call 911 as he sat in the living room with the knife.

“He cut me with a knife,” she says.  The dispatcher asks if he’s still there, and Sharon tells her yes.

“Your grandson cut your neck with a knife?” the dispatcher asked.

“Yes,” Sharon replied.

“Is he still there?” the dispatcher asked, and Sharon said yes.

The dispatcher asked Sharon if anyone else was in the house, and Sharon said she didn’t think so.  She didn’t know her granddaughter was dead in the basement with a stab wound to the neck.

The dispatcher asked what kind of knife Josh had, and Sharon said, “Probably a hunting knife.”  She said he still had it but he had calmed down.

During the call, Sharon struggles to understand what’s happening and says that Josh is “a wonderful kid” and “not a violent boy.”

“I don`t know if he had a bad dream,” Sharon said.

Josh Keyzer is awaiting a competency exam to determine if he’ll head to trial.
