070314TRAVELWEST MICHIGAN — (July 3, 2014) Cooler temperatures have settled into Michigan over the last 24-hours thanks to a cold front and that will lead to a cooler yet comfortable weekend ahead.

If you are headed up north for the Independence Day weekend or for the Cherry Festival you may want to add a jacket to the overnight bag as temperatures will be slightly cooler than normal.

Clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop overnight in all of Michigan however areas in Northern Michigan will have the opportunity to drop into the low to mid 40’s overnight making Friday morning a chilly one.

Sunshine and a light breeze will keep afternoon temperatures warm and comfortable, as afternoon highs warm into the mid 70’s through the weekend.

Dry conditions will hold strong thanks to high pressure however rain and thunderstorm chances move back in during the late afternoon and evening hours Sunday.
