Adoption AaronGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 10, 2014) – 17-year-old Aaron is searching for a forever family – a family willing to stick with him.

He was born in Romania, where his biological mother left him at a hospital when he was just three years old.

It seemed he finally found a happy life with loving parents when an American couple adopted him and brought him to the States.

But 11  years later, Aaron found himself without a family again – and in a country without a single relative to lean on.

No, as an older child in the foster care system, he has far less of a chance of being adopted.

“I’m good in school,” Aaron says. “I clean my room all the time,”

Lynette Lingemann with the Lutheran Adoption Service says Aaron is a great kid, fun to get to get to know, and a role model to all his peers.

Aaron says he wants a family because he wants to be cared about again.

Next year – when he turns 18 – foster families and adoptive parents will no longer be recruited for him.  The adoption agency has searched for a family in Romania, so Aaron won’t be forever alone.

So far, no luck.

Aaron also loves camping and being outdoors – and would love to go to a Detroit Tigers game. He says he’s their biggest fan. “They always try their hardest to win the games,” he says. “They hit fly balls and you get to keep them!”

Aaron’s forever family can come in all shapes and sizes. “You can have no experience or no experience,” Lingemann says. “There’s really no set limit on what a family looks like for an adoptive family.”

Adopting Aaron and any other child through the state is free. “The state provides a lot of funding and help support for children being adopted in foster care,” Lingemann said.

Aaron said he hopes God will help a FOX 17 viewer see him and adopt him, and he has a message for his future family. “Thank you and God Bless you.”
