I-196 ramp to close in Holland
HOLLAND, Mich. — As part of the reconstruction of part of I-196 this summer, one of the ramps will close Monday in the I-196/M-40 interchange.
On July 14 at 6 a.m., the ramp from eastbound I-196 to M-40 will close for construction and is expected to remain closed through August 1. The detour options include exiting early at US-31 to get to M-40, or going past the M-40 interchange to exit at Adams Street, then backtracking to M-40 by taking 16th Street west to US-31, then to M-40.
In addition, as part of the overall project, a new loop ramp will be added to the M-40 interchange from southbound M-40 to eastbound I-196. This will eliminate the need to wait for traffic to turn left from southbound M-40 onto eastbound I-196.
The overall project runs through October.
