Andy BrownCENTREVILLE, Mich. – The jury of the St. Joseph County 45th Circuit Court found Andy Brown guilty of second-degree murder of his boss, CPA David Locey, and guilty of felony firearm. Judge Paul Stutesman set sentencing for August 29 at 9 A.M.

Monday morning marked the ninth day of trail, and the third day of jury deliberation for the 12-person jury.

Brown was accused of shooting and killing Locey on October 2, 2013 at Locey’s Sherman Township office, where Brown worked.

As Fox 17 has reported, during closing arguments last Thursday, prosecutor John McDonough said Brown knew his career was coming to an end after multiple client claims of embezzlement; he called Brown “desperate.”

Defense Attorney Michael Hills rebutted with his closing argument, and said if Brown had nothing to hide he would not have willingly gone with Detective Sergeant Lonnie Palmer to the Sheriff’s Department directly from the crime scene.

Poignant evidence in this trial was gunshot residue on some of Brown’s clothing; cell phone tower location of Brown’s cell phone; no DNA or blood on anything; and no gun ever found.
