Former Kent Co. Assistant Prosecutor arrested

KENT COUNTY, Mich. – A former Kent County assistant prosecutor is behind bars, suspected of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, Grand Rapids Police said.

Mark VanderMolen was booked in the jail Tuesday, according to jail records.

According to Michigan State Police records, VanderMolen is being held on two counts of criminal sexual conduct.

VanderMollen stepped down from his post in 2011.

He has not been formally arraigned.
