Fugitive from Missouri arrested in Albion after foot chase

ALBION, Mich.- A 28-year-old Kansas City, Missouri man is currently locked up in the Calhoun County Jail after fleeing from police Friday afternoon.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, deputies made a traffic stop on I-94 near 28 Mile Road, when they discovered the driver to be wanted  out of the State of Missouri for being a parole absconder.

As the suspect was being taken into custody, he fought with the deputy and was able to break free and flee on foot. Deputies say that the suspect was almost struck by a passing motorist as he was running out into traffic on I-94.

The suspect then ran into the City of Albion where he resisted two other Albion Department of Public Safety officers before being taken into custody.

The 28-year-old Kansas City, Missouri man is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail on charges of resisting and obstructing an officer and for being a fugitive from justice.
