PITTSTON, Penn. - Kevin McGroarty has had the last laugh.

The West Pittston man died at his home July 22 at the age of 53.  While friends are saddened by his death, they also say they can’t help but laugh at the obituary he wrote about himself, which begins with, “McGroarty achieves room temperature!”

"To know him was to really to love him,” said his friend, Juanita Krieger to WNEP. "Online comments on the obituary and people saying, 'I wish I knew this guy.' I’m sorry for anybody who didn’t."

McGroarty ended his obituary the advice, “Never stick a steak knife in an electrical outlet.”

His funeral was held July 28. According to the obituary, the funeral was followed by a brief rant of how the government screwed up all of the Bugs Bunny cartoons by trying to censor violence.
