1. More than 2,000 people attend rave in Mecosta County dubbed “Project P”
Invite sent out over social media to attend “Project P”
20-year-old James Taylor called his party on Saturday night one for the record books, after the Mecosta County rave saw more than 2,000 people attend. Police say many of the party goers were under 21-years-old, and that the incident resulted in at least six overdoses and one sexual assault. Taylor says he’s expected the Sheriff’s Office to contact him and that he will take responsibility for anything he did that was criminal. 2. Godwin Heights student shot and killed

ardson, 17, was shot and killed around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 3, and that same night, loved ones held a candlelight vigil for him at Godwin Heights High School. 3. Water emergency in Toledo
There is a state of emergency in Toledo, Ohio because of high toxin levels in the city’s water supply. About 400,000 people in Ohio do not have running water, and about 30,000 people in southeast Michigan who buy their water have also been left high and dry. 4. Mudslides in California kill at least 1 and leave thousands more stranded
At least 500 children and adults have been trapped at a church camp in California’s San Bernadino County because of mudslides and torrential rain. 1,500 people in Glen Oak have been stranded, and officials say some roads are now covered with six to eight feet of rock because of the mudslides. 5. Meijer LPGA Golf Classic Returns to West Michigan

s will come to Blythefield Country Club in West Michigan from Aug. 4 – 10 for the LPGA Classic. Tuesday at 9 a.m. the Meijer LPGA Ladies Day will begin and the four-day tournament will begin on Thursday with a 7 a.m. tee off.
