MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. – Michigan State Police said the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a home over the weekend was coming from a huge rave in Mecosta County.

The following news release was sent to FOX 17 News from Michigan State Police:

On 08/03/2014 at approximately 3:39 A.M, State Police Troopers from the Mt. Pleasant Post – Reed City Detachment responded to a residence in the Village of Mecosta for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a home. No injuries were reported by the complainant, and it was unsure if anyone was injured inside of the residence.

Upon arrival on scene, Troopers located a passenger car that had driven off the roadway of East Main St and into a residence that was on the north side of the street. The vehicle appeared to have gone airborne for a short distance after hitting a ditch, landing in the homeowner’s yard. The vehicle continued at a moderate speed, and crashed into the front porch deck of the home. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting the house. Thankfully no one was home at the time of the crash. The homeowners were later reached by telephone and advised of the crash. It was also estimated that the drunk driver caused a few thousand dollars in damage to the home and totaled the suspect vehicle.
