HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich.- A Holland Township homeowner awoke Friday morning to find a man breaking into his home.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the attempted home invasion happened Friday morning around 8 a.m. on Briarwood Drive in Holland Township. The would-be intruder broke the glass on the front door of the home, and that is when the homeowner woke up.

When the homeowner went to investigate, the homeowner heard a window shatter and the homeowner confronted the man.

The man then fled the home and was last seen running in the area of Renwood Dr. and Ashbourne Dr. in Holland Township.

Deputies describe the suspect as a white male in his late teens or early twenties, 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, with a thin build. The man was wearing a dark or camouflage jacket or hoodie with a dark or camouflage backpack and white athletic shoes.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating this case.
