McCormick Ground Oregano recalled for possible salmonella

SPARKS, Md. — Testing by the Food and Drug Administration revealed the possibility of salmonella being present in certain jars of McCormick ground oregano.

The McCormick Company has issued a voluntary recall of McCormick® Ground Oregano, 0.75 oz bottle, UPC 0-523561-6 with code dates BEST BY AUG 21 16 H and AUG 22 16 H.

Other McCormich oregano products are not affected, including ground, whole, and leaf oregano.

Salmonella can make people sick and can be fatal for young children, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems.

Consumers should destroy the product they have and contact McCormick Consumer Affairs at 1-800-632-5847 for refund information.
