MUSKEGON, Mich.- A teen searching for a forever home is getting a big wish granted by a local firefighter.

FOX 17 first introduced you to 17-year-old Aaron in July as he searches for a forever home and mentor. He said then that he dreamed of one day going to a Tigers game.

Thanks to the generosity of a Muskegon firefighter, he watched the Tigers take on the Seattle Mariners Sunday night at Comerica Park.

"It just grabbed me that one of his biggest wishes was to go to a Tigers game, something that I`ve taken for granted," Darric Roesler said.

Born in Romania and given up by his mother when he was three, Aaron was adopted by an American couple and brought to the States. Eleven years later, he was placed back into the foster system.

Darric invited Aaron to the fire station, gave him a tour, and surprised him with the news he was taking him to the Tigers game.

Sitting along the first base line in the seventh row, Aaron's dream came true, Sunday. Darric bought him a Tigers hat, shirt, and bag - as he feasted on hot dogs and sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."

Aaron says he hopes to learn a lot from his new hero and friend, as the two bonded over the game.

Darric hopes it inspires others to pay it forward. "If you can do something for somebody else and you`ve got the ability, go ahead and do it," he said.

Dana Wright of Orchard's Children's Services made the trip possible by going along with Darric and Aaron, because it's the rules the foster youths have a chaperone.

The even better news is that after seeing our story on Aaron last month, he now has a forever family lined up to adopt him.
