SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — San Francisco Police released video of a person of interest in a West Michigan man’s murder.

Bryan Higgins, 31, died Aug. 13 after being taken off life support.   He was found beaten and unconscious Aug. 10 in the city’s Duboce Triangle neighborhood.

According to Hoodline, police believe the separate parts of the video feature the same man.  In the first, he’s wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and in the second part he’s wearing a red sweatshirt.

Higgins is originally from Comstock and had other ties in the Kalamazoo area. Loved ones gathered in West Michigan to remember him as he was being taken off of life support.

Colorful balloons were set free Aug. 13 with a special symbol: a feather.

Feather is a nickname that friends say stuck with Higgins for years.

“He is just carefree, light like a feather,”  said Heather Baker, a lifelong friend.
