AMERICAN CANYON, Calif. — The largest earthquake to strike Northern California in almost twenty-five years struck part of wine country early Sunday morning. The 6.0 Magnitude earthquake rattled Californians at 3:20 AM local time, 6:20 AM eastern time.

The quake was centered 4.2 miles north-northwest of American Canyon, or 6 miles from Napa, California. This quake is the largest to strike Northern California since the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989. That quake registered at 6.9 M and became well-known as it struck during the 1989 World Series.

Early reports indicate no major damage within the Bay area but many Californians have taken to social media to post pictures of minor damage.
