MARSHALL, Mich. — A missing Marshall teenager was found at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday with a man in a Georgia hotel.

At a 6 p.m. press conference, police said that Hannah Marie Amaro, 14, had just been taken into custody along with a 28-year-old man at a hotel in Gwinnett County northeast of Atlanta.

Police said the girl was okay.

Earlier, FOX 17 learned that both the Michigan State Police and FBI were involved in the search for Amaro, who disappeared Saturday. Police said she had not had any contact with friends or family since then.

Her family said they believed she might have gotten into a truck with a man named Vic. Family members said he was from Georgia and the pair met on a dating website.

FOX 17 photographer Chris Sage learned from the director of public safety, Jim Swartz, that the Major Investigative Unit was involved in Amaro’s search. The unit consists of the Marshall Police Department, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, the state police and the FBI.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited children said “Hannah may be with a male companion.”

Amaro was described as a white female standing 5’3″ and weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair with red and blue stripes, and hazel eyes. Family members said she looks more Hispanic, is closer to 180 pounds and she looks older.

Anyone with any information about Hannah Marie Amaro was being asked to call 9-1-1.
