I-96 back open in Ionia County following multiple crashes

IONIA COUNTY, Mich. – Westbound I-96 is back open after it was shut down for several hours Wednesday in Ionia County due to multiple crashes.

The stretch of highway was closed at the Saranac exit because of two multi-truck crashes with up to five semi trucks involved.

There were injuries reported; however, the extent of the injuries were not disclosed.

The road re-opened at about 1:30 p.m.
