NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. — Four fire departments responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning, where at least one person suffered unknown injuries.

It happened near W. 96th and Dickerson Road in Sheridan Township, that’s not far from Fremont.  According to dispatchers, the home is believed to be a total loss.

Officials with the Fremont Fire Department say a medical helicopter was unable to land at the scene to transport a patient, due to heavy fog.  The extent of any injuries is not yet clear.

As of 6:30 a.m., Troopers with the Michigan State Police still have the area blocked off, and are not letting media into the scene.

We are told that a press release will be issued later Wednesday.
