GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The family of Maxine Green will be holding a vigil for her to honor the one year anniversary of her disappearance.

The vigil is planned for Sunday evening at 6pm on the corner of Division and Fair Street SE in Grand Rapids.

Green, the sister of famed soul singer Al Green, went missing on Aug. 23 2013 after her family reported she never returned home like usual one evening. The last reported sighting of Green was on Sept. 6 at the B and B Party Shoppes on Leonard St.

FOX 17 spoke with relatives of Green last year who said she suffered from schizophrenia and dealt with alcoholism.

Anyone with information regarding Green’s whereabouts is asked to call Grand Rapids police or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
