Driver runs two red lights, strikes other vehicle

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Police in Kalamazoo are searching for suspects after they reportedly ran from the scene of an accident.

Saturday afternoon, a Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer turned around to investigate a suspicious vehicl, that’s when the vehicle suddenly took off at a high speed northbound on Mills Street.

After running a red light at Lake Street, the vehicle ran another red light at Vine Street where it collided with a vehicle travelling westbound.

The driver from the vehicle that was struck had to be extricated and was sent to a local hospital where he’s listed to be in stable condition.

The suspect vehicle travelled another 75 yards and came to a stop in the middle of Mills Street. By the time the officer reached the suspect vehicle, the suspects had left the vehicle and ran from the scene.

A K-9 led investigators to the 700 block of Millard Court, but was unable to track the suspects any further.
