ALTO, Mich.- The Kent County Sheriff’s Department has identified the two elderly women that died Saturday afternoon in a two vehicle roll over crash.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, 78-year-old Hazel Scobey and 63-year-old Lois Peterson, both from Middleville died in a two vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Pratt Lake and 64th Street SE.

Deputies state that the two women were travelling in a 1997 Chrysler mini-van when their vehicle failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. The mini-van was then broadsided by a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by 42-year-old Richard Seelye of Clarksville travelling eastbound on 64th Street. The Dodge Ram then rolled over.

Mr. Seelye and his passenger 37-year-old Miranda Nash of Clarksville were both taken to Metro Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies believe that alcohol nor speed are factors in this crash.
