GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Degage Ministries is celebrating 25 years of serving the community Thanksgiving Eve dinner.

The event is a partnership between Degage and H.T. Hackney.

Marge Palmerlee, the executive director at Degage Ministries says they expect to serve over 200 people tonight.

“We are their extended family and we’re glad to be here,” Palmerlee told FOX 17.

Thanksgiving dinner is just part of 50,000 meals that are served in Grand Rapids throughout the year.

“That gives us that opportunity to build those relationships,” explained Palmerlee. “We can then refer people to our other services: help them get a State of Michigan I.D.., help them get a job, housing; we have showers and (a) laundromat. We have overnight shelter for up to 40 women every night.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. Degage Ministries is located at 144 S. Division in Grand Rapids.
