KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A former sergeant with the Kent County Sheriff’s Department received 18 months of probation Wednesday after pleading guilty to receiving oral sex in a parking lot.
According to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office, 56-year-old Matthew Lavern Guy pleaded guilty in October to gross indecency between males.
He was arrested in June in the lot near West River Drive NW and US-131.
This was the second time Guy was arrested for a sex charge. Prosecutors say in 2004 he admitted to sending pornographic images to an undercover cop who he thought was a teenage boy.
He served just over two years behind bars for those charges and was required to register as a sex offender after being released in November 2006.
Prosecutors agreed to drop “repeat offender” status for this incident because he pleaded guilty.
According to MLive,Guy had 17 years of experience with the Kent County Sheriff’s Department when he was arrested and charged with those first offenses.
