REYNOLDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 16-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured when two cars collided on M-82 near Amy School Road.

According to a release from the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say an eastbound vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman from Howard City turned left and was hit by a westbound car driven by a 55-year-old Newaygo man.

Their vehicles hit the teen while she was retrieving a trash can from the edge of the road, deputies said.   Her, the 23-year-old driver and her 3-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The other driver was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
