BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A woman has been arrested for burglarizing two businesses Monday.

Police responded to two break-ins that occurred early Monday morning. Officers said a 36-year-old woman from Battle Creek entered each location by smashing windows with rocks. She first went to the Dollar General at West Michigan and Wood Street where she stole clothing. She then entered Walgreens at 605 North Ave. where cigarettes were taken.

While stealing items from each location, security cameras recorded her and officers recognized her after realizing they had had contact with her before.

At 6:20 p.m. Monday, officers located the suspect while she was walking in the area of Caroline Street near Goguac Street. The woman was wearing some of the clothes she had stolen.

She is now behind bars at the Calhoun County jail charged with two counts of breaking and entering.
