WALKER, Mich. — Two Meijer corporate employees have been charged with embezzling more than $50,000 from the company.

Court records obtained by FOX 17 allege Tracy Gordon, 45, and Danny Vandermyde, 63, collectively stole more than $50,000 from the supermarket giant while working at the corporate  office building located on 3 Mile Rd. in Walker.

The two allegedly converted gift cards for their own personal use over the course of four years.

Gordon is charged with embezzlement as an agent or trustee between $20,000 and $50,000 between August 2010 and October 2014. Vandermyde is charged with embezzlement between $50,000 and $100,000 between September 2010 and October 2014.

Both were arraigned in court Jan. 30.

Meijer’s corporate investigator Ryan Themm provided documentation to authorities detailing the amount of money each of the two employees allegedly stole gift cards, according to an affidavit filed in Walker District Court.

Themm said both Gordon and Vandermyde admitted to embezzling the money, according to court documents.

Gordon could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted while Vandermyde could face up to 15 years in prison.

Both could also face steep fines up to three times the amount embezzled.

A Meijer spokesperson has not returned FOX 17s requests for comment on the allegations.
