MUSKEGON, Mich. — The man accused of conning several women out of thousands of dollars will go to trial.
Jeffery Lee Lucus, 34, of Muskegon, dubbed the “Sweetheart Swindler” swooned women with romance then ran off with their money, according to victims.
According to prosecutors, Lucus declined to plead guilty to felony charges and now the case will go to trial.
Lucus fled the state and was arrested in Florida before being brought back to Michigan to face charges.
