Mayweather fighting Pacquiao on May 2

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Floyd Mayweather has announced that he will meet Manny Pacquiao in May.

Mayweather confirmed Friday evening that the title bout the boxing world has been waiting on for years “is a done deal” and will take place May 2.

“I promised the fans we would get this done and we did,” Mayweather said on the social media platform Shots, along with a picture of what he said was a contract signed by both fighters. ” We will make history on May 2nd. Don’t miss it.”

Mayweather, 37, is a native of Grand Rapids and is the world welterweight champion while Pacquiao, 36, hails from the Philippines.  Mayweather’s record is 47-0 while Pacquiao stands 57-5-2.

    Too late.
    Waaaay too late.
    Who wants to watch old men fight? Not me.
    Luckily, I know that it won’t happen anyway. One of them will get “injured” training between now and then and it will get called off.
    Just another dog and pony show for suckers.
