NEW BUFFALO, Mich. — West Michigan’s Most Wanted and Grand Rapids Harley Davidson continues honoring those who go above and beyond the call of duty — and this week’s Hero of the Week comes from Berrien County.
Sgt. Jason Grimmett of New Buffalo City Police received a call of a dog in the water at New Buffalo City Beach on February 13th.
Finding a black dog in the river and struggling to get out of the ice, Sgt. Grimmett climbed into waist deep water — saving the frozen K9 and carrying him out of the water.
The dog was then reunited with his elderly owners, who were watching from the shore.
Congratulations to Sgt. Grimmett — and thank you for all you do!
