WHITEHALL, Mich - No more money, that's what voters said on Tuesday when they rejected a funding measure for the White Lake Fire Authority. The measure called for a 1.65 mill over ten years. The money would have paid for a new fire station, equipment upgrades and other improvements.

White Lake Fire Authority Board member Andrew Fink says, " our services today will be the same as they were yesterday, it just we are not going to be able to upgrade the equipment.... and if we can not upgrade the equipment than eventually our services will go down."

The board has not decided what their next move will be or if they will bring the measure before voters again.

The White Lake Fire Authority covers Whitehall, Fruitland Township, and Whitehall Township, covering nearly 54 square miles.
