HASTINGS, Mich. — A Hastings woman stabbed and killed her dog after the animal apparently bit her and latched onto her face.

According to Hastings Police, the woman reported the attack at about 9:41 p.m. Feb. 20.

She told police that she was petting her Sheppard mix while it was sitting in her lap and it attacked her for no reason.

The dog would not let go of her face until she was reached for a pocket knife and stabbed it three times in the mid-section.

A man in the house was able to pull the dog away and put it in a kennel until police arrived.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.  The dog was transported to a veterinarian and died of its injuries.

Well this sounds like another bullshit story. Animals just don’t bite your face off for no reason. The police need to look into these owners.

It was my sister and it is the truth! The dog was becoming very aggressive. I had been there 10 minutes before the attack! The police officer on the scene knows it was justified! She had attempted to bite 2 people while I pet sat for her while she was in the hospital! So please dont judge! The dog left deep wounds under each eye and bruised one eye and wounds inside her nose. It has been 2 weeks and my sister still healing! She loved that dog and was very heartbroken but it was kill or be killed!
