Cary JonesTHREE RIVERS, Mich. — A 46-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting children at a Three Rivers daycare.

Cary Jones is being charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and eight counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.

The alleged crimes happened at a home daycare facility where Jones lived.   According to a release from the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Jones often transported children from school to the daycare and was sometimes left alone with them at the home.

Jones faces up to life in prison if convicted of the first-degree CSC charge.  He’s currently behind bars at the St. Joseph County jail and is expected to be arraigned sometime Tuesday.

Michigan State Policeannounced they were investigating allegations of sexual abuse at the daycare in late January.   Sources close to the investigation confirmed the alleged incidents involved victims between 3 and 12 years old.

The investigation was prompted by a child who told their parents they had been inappropriately touched at the daycare facility.
