GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapid’s Police Department has set up a mobile command unit near the Chicken Coop restaurant on South Division Ave.

GRPD is working to crack down on violence in that area after Terence Hollis, 32, was shot to death in the restaurant’s parking lot March 22.

Police plan on maintaining a presence in the area via the mobile unit on Friday and Saturday nights.

Management at the Chicken Coop also announced earlier in the week that they will begin closing at midnight beginning today.
