SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -– A man who was arrested after driving his truck into a Salt Lake City home admitted to police that he drank 36 beers and did cocaine prior to the crash, according to KSTU.

Bernabe Urcino-Saldago, 39, was arrested Monday morning for driving under the influence, negligent collision and driving without a license.

Police tell KSTU that Urcino-Saldago hit the house after failing to make a left turn.

Homeowner Mario Gutierrez and his mother were asleep in their bedrooms during the crash.   They were not injured.

“If the truck would have veered over another five feet and missed the center support for the home, he would have went through that first wall and ran into my bedroom and ran me over, I’d be dead,” Gutierrez tells KSTU.

According to KSTU, the truck barely missed hitting the family dog while it was sleeping in the living room.
