WEST MICHIGAN — Chances for Severe Weather continue this evening as storms are moving through the Upper Midwest.

Storms have produced at least two tornadoes in Illinois and will move east tonight into West Michigan. While the tornadic threat is very low for us here in West Michigan, dangerous straight line winds will be possible.

Once the cold front moves through after midnight, the storm threat will end but winds will become very gusty. Winds could easily reach in excess of 40 mph as the cold front moves across the state. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in anticipation of non-thunderstorm winds from 2 AM to 6 PM Friday.
